Christmas random thoughts

We went to jeremiah's parents house on Christmas Eve to spend the night. I'm still not really sure why we did that. His brother's wife Melissa still hadn't started wrapping presents so Jeremiah volunteered "us" to help. I say "us" because of course, he wasn't much help at all! By the time we got done, I was ready to die from squishing junior!! His brothers family was supposed to be spending the day with his wife's family but they called us at 4:00 a.m. (after WAKING THEIR KIDS UP at 3:30) to come over and open presents! Hello, we already knew what was in all of them! Oh my gosh!!! Please don't wake your kids up... especially at that age when they are just not that excited and don't really understand! Sheesh! I was pretty irritated! Then we went back to The in-laws and listened to Dixie whine at Clyde for a couple of hours and I finally told Jeremiah that if she didn't stop I was going to leave and she must have heard me cause she stopped for about 15 minutes! :) It was snowing so bad here that day and the wind was blowing like crazy so we thought that we were going to have to stay another night there (AHHHHHHH!!!!) but luckily the snow let up at about 6 p.m. and the wind calmed a bit so we headed home. The roads were really scary but not as scary as having to spend another night at the Martins so we were glad to get home. We went over and watched a movie at my brothers house. On Friday we went out to lunch at McDonalds with Isabella for her birthday and then I went shopping with Val, Kath, Jerm and Isabella. She got to come instead of taking a nap because it was her birthday! She was adorable! At one point she told Aunt Kathryn that she was just so tired that she couldn't take another step!

Then on Saturday and Sunday I felt like crap, all vomity and stuff so I just stayed in my pj's and watched movies. Lately my stomach has been irritated at everthing that I eat, I don't understand it but Dr. Hall says that it is normal so I trying not to be to concerned about it. Last night I had a hard time sleeping because it hurt so bad!

Today I had a Dr.'s appointment and they did a blood sugar test on me. It was supposed to be 400 or below and mine was 500 so I have another appointment tomorrow to do a 3 hour test and see what they come up with. Really fun for me, I am so excited about it! :) I do get to go and have a massage after that so I am pretty thrilled with that!

Grandma just called me and invited us to dinner and then to watch a "short film". So that should be interesting.... Dinner will be good though. That means that I don't have to cook and I am always happy about that! :)

Things are crazy!!! It is soooo cold and wintery here!! It has been snowing like crazy all weekend. I really need to take some pics and post them on here... I am such a procrastinator!!! Well, that and the fact that I only have internet at work really hinders the picture posting parade.

So this weekend Valerie had Isaac and Isabella's birthday parties at Leo's place. It was fun. The kids were very cute and we always love getting together with family. It definately felt like a going to the movies sort of day... cold, overcast and snowy!! On the way to the party it was snowing so much that we could barely see anything in front of us. I guess it's a good thing that we only had to go about 5 blocks!!

We also did some shopping... Of course, not for Christmas but J needed some pants for work so decided to use some of his older pants for that and buy new ones for his "good pants". We went to JCPenny's to get them and when we were checking out the woman asked us if we would like to round our purchase up to the next dollar and donate the remaining amount to some childrens charity (I don't rememeber which one). We said yes and as she handed us the receipt she said "Have a merry christmas and thank you for donating to the children." I immediately started crying... what the heck???? That was out of control if you must know. Yesterday we had an appointment at WIC and the woman asked me and J if we had noticed any emotional changes in me lately and J just started laughing and said... "you think?!" which I thought was rather rude! Is he trying to make me cry? :)

oh, one more pregnancy tmi.... I have got the worst gas EVER!!! There isn't a whole lot of it but it sure is nasty!! Poor J! He now knows how I feel all the time....

Sorry for that! :)

Well, we have decided that instead of stressing out about what needs to be done in the basement before the baby comes, we are going to put all the visitor room stuff in the one room that is pretty much finished (aka has a door!) in the basement and then be able to do the other room when we have the time, energy and resources to do it. Plus, Sam (Jeremiah's nephew who is coming to visit in April) is a construction foreman and he said that he would help J with whatever he needs to get done.

Yesterday was my nephew, Isaac's birthday. He was so excited to be the same age as his big sister, Isabella for 3 weeks that he could hardly stand it. Of course, Isabella was not as thrilled. He got to go out to lunch with Aunt Kathryn for his birthday. She took him to Arctic Circle AND he got to play on the toys! :) They came over to our house and ate dinner (wendy's) and then Isaac and Ethan got hair cuts. They both look very dashing. Those kids are just so cute I want to squeeze them all the time.

Oh, Kevin also called me yesterday to tell me a funny thing that happened at their house. Drew, their oldest, was showing Kevin a magic trick and he told Kevin that Uncle Jeremiah could do real magic tricks. He can stick a pencil all the way in his ear and then pull it back out! Kevin said, "Drew, do you want to know how Uncle Jeremiah does that?" So Drew says "IT'S REAL MAGIC!" Kevin proceeds to tell him that the reason Jeremiah can do that is because he doesn't have a brain! Drew continues to argue with him that Jeremiah DOES have a brain because he did a times table chart for him one time and then Jaxon comes in the room and says "Drew, Uncle Jeremiah doesn't have a brain, he has a motorcycle and that means he doesn't have a brain!!!!" We all thought that was pretty hilarious! I wonder what Kevin has been telling his kids about motorcycles! :)

Jeremiah and I are trying to redo our basement. The guy who lived there before us may have been a little crazy when he put "walls" up down there.

So I emptied out the office yesterday afternoon and Jeremiah came home from work and started pulling down walls (without taking all the stuff out of the office that I had boxed up first!!! hello??) and this is what we discovered: He didn't even frame one whole side of the house and didn't put insulation in about half of it! The insulation that he did put in isn't really "insulation". How ridiculous. Cute old man though. We found out that he died last week and his funeral was last saturday. Very sad!

We are trying to get that one room done by the time the baby comes tso that we will still have a spare bedroom with the nursery stuff going in upstairs.

Oh, Jeremiah also told me a couple of days ago that his nephew, Sam, who lives in Alaska called him the other day and asked if when he came to Idaho the first week in April if they could stay with us. Of course Jeremiah said yes, which is great, except that puts extra pressure on us to get that room finished and we will have a VERY newborn baby!! It'll be fun though. I'm pretty sure that they planned their trip around us having the baby so I shouldn't complain, right?

okay, more pregnancy stuff. (and probably a little bit of tmi!)

The other day I took my bra off and it was wet on one side. Yes, I am already starting to leak and I am only 25 weeks along... what the???

Then, last night my breasts were hurting soooo bad! And mostly just my aereola's and nipples!! So, I took my bra off and they were RED and HOT!!! So I called Val to see if she had any problems like this when she was pregnant and of course she didn't but thought that it was VERY hilarious that I had "red hot" nipples! :) So I just kept my bra off all night and today they are feeling much better!

okay, so it's been awhile!

IT'S A GIRL!!!! How exciting! We went and had our ultrasound done on the 31st of October and it was so cool!! The woman doing it was not very informative though. She didn't really point anything out that she was doing and went really fast. I think that we were her last appointment of the day and she just wanted to get out of there. She did talk the entire time, just not about the ultrasound so that was a little frustating. But, I didn't ask any questions because I thought that she was recording the entire thing. So we got home and popped the tape in the VCR and nope, she recorded about 3 minutes of the 40 minute process!! So that was a little frustrating... Jeremiah was (is) a little worried because she didn't show us what we were looking at when she said that it was for sure a girl so he is still saying that it could be a boy!!

Anyway, we are now trying to pick out names. Some of them that we like are Presley, Zoe, Chloe, Franki... there are more... believe me!! It is just so hard to pick out a name!

Jeremiah finally felt her move about a week ago and was very excited. I actually SAW her move one day and was completely freaked out by it until I realized what it was! Then I thought that it was pretty awesome!

Well, I have rambled on long enough! I will have to post about my trip to Hawaii another time. I don't think that I have to worry about forgetting much of that because I hand wrote a journal while we were there so that I could remember everything that we did!

baby movement

So, yesterday I was laying on the couch reading the most boring book ever written when all of a sudden a certain someone let their presence be known!!!! I swear that if I had been looking at my stomach it would have jumped a couple of inches!!! okay, so probably not, but the movement was so obviously peanut that it made me cry and smile at the same time! That was the first time that I have been for SURE that it was the baby moving around in there! I love it. I have felt movement a couple of times today also. OH... last night I was listening around for a heart beat and everytime I would press down on my belly with the "speaker" i would feel a flutter move away from the pressure. It was cuteness!!!!

btw, the boring book that I'm reading is Cry, The Beloved Country.

looking and feeling preggers!

I saw mom today and she told me that I was looking pregnant! Unfortunately, I am really just FEELING fat!! :) it's okay though! I am still having a hard time believing that I am pregnant so I guess that it will finally hit me when I see you on the ultrasound in a couple of weeks. I hope that we are able to see you before we go to Hawaii. This will be our last big vacation before you arrive so it had better be a good one and you had better be good!! :) Valerie and I think Justin are coming and so is Kathryn who is bringing a friend from work, Toni. So, there should be plenty of people there to motivate us to do something besides stay in the room and just hang out. We were originally going for a romantic holiday / anniversary but I guess that we will have to find moments of romance while everyone else is there too! I'm sure that it will be fun and we will have a blast!

Anyway, I actually was able to make dinner the other night and only felt nauseous when I was cutting up the chicken, so life is improving thankfully!! :) the baby is definately worth all of the "pain and suffering" though, I would okay feeling worse for the pleasure of having a baby!!
