Wren's 4 Month Accomplishments

Already 4 months old!!

How the time flies! Here we are already into August and Wren just turned 4 months old! This summer has been so hectic and our Internet has been down for about a week and a half so we have lots to catch up on!

At 4 months old, Wren weighs 13 pounds 1 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long.

Wren LOVES baths! She actually fell asleep in one the other night and whenever I am trying to hold off bed or feeding time, I can put her in the bathtub and she is instantly content!!

She has also discovered that she really loves the car. When I was pregnant with her I would listen to the song "Let It Rock" by Kevin Rudolph and she would always move around and now whenever she is super upset in the car I can start that song and she will stop crying, I think that it is very cute!

Wren has discovered her thumb. She doesn't suck it often but when she does it is adorable! I don't really want her to continue with it, but right now it is fun to see her realizing what all of her body parts are. Another body part that she has figured out are her feet and toes! She loves to grab them but has not gotten around to putting them in her mouth yet! We are just waiting for that day. The other day she was pulling her pacifier out of her mouth and then would cry and put it back in her mouth, I don't think that she realized that she was the one doing it! :) How cute!

She also FAKE coughs! It is pathetic (but also cute!) When I am swaddling her in her blanket at night and she is hungry she will start to cry and then do the fake cough! She will also do it sometimes when I do it to her. I love that she is getting so big but it breaks my heart that she is getting big! It is a catch 22 I guess, they can't stay little forever so we have to live and love every minute of it.

She also GIGGLES!! She likes it when we "eat" her tummy or when I kiss her neck. I love her giggles!! It melts my heart every time she does it!

We have started her on Rice Cereal and I have just been putting it in her bottle because she mostly just spits it out when I give it to her with a spoon. This created a bit of a problem when she became constipated and got a rash so bad that it bled but a little bit of prune juice later she was back to normal. We put her on the cereal in hopes that she would not spit up quite so much and it helped a little bit. I also bought a Dr. Brown's bottle ($7.00 later -sheesh!) and that seems to have helped some as well. She still spits up more than I would like (and a lot on Aunt Kathryn!!) but at least it has gotten to the point that I feel like I can move her around and she won't vomit all over me! The first time that I gave her Rice Cereal I did try a spoon first but she was not so good at it! What she was good at and really really loves is her HIGHCHAIR!!! She loves to be in it! It is so cute! I think she thinks that she is a big person when she gets to sit at the table in her chair!!

Both Jeremiah and I are fascinated by every little thing that she does and are so grateful that we were blessed with this precious spirit in our home. We are doing our best to be the best parents that we can and hopefully we won't mess her up too badly!
