Rough Day...

Yesterday was a very rough day for Wren and I. It started out pretty good with Wren climbing into bed with me at 7:30, cuddling up with me and falling asleep. I had a Dr's appointment at 10:50 so I finally woke Wren up at 10:30 and we made it (only 5 minutes late). After the appointment we went to Target and got a couple of things that we needed for the baby and then we came home and had a nap. After naps things just went down hill! I went downstairs to change the laundry and when I came back upstairs Wren had gone into the bathroom, climbed up on the toilet and got my eye makeup remover. She then proceeded to climb into my red recliner and dump it out ALL OVER IT! Luckily it was Mary Kay and oil free and so came out of the material. I had not taken my meds that morning because we were in such a hurry to get out the door so I'm sure that I overreacted a little bit but it made me so angry. After that pretty much everything that she did just made me more and more angry. She got into the pantry and ate a bunch of cookies creating a crumby mess. Then, I'm sure because she could sense how stressed and upset I was, she just wanted me to hold her and hug on her. I was NOT in the mood! It took over 2 hours to clean the chair! I had lots of other plans for yesterday. I kept trying to remind myself that this too shall pass and that I would regret staying angry for as long as I was. Also that Wren probably really didn't remember why she was in trouble and why I was so angry after that amount of time!

Today has been much better! Wren did wake up at 7 this morning, which is fine with me... I just wish that she would be more consistent in the time of awakening each morning! She was sick about a month ago and was waking up in the night needing medicine and milk. It became a habit and now I don't know how to break her of it. She wakes up at the same time every night and she is old enough that I know she doesn't need to be! I am thinking about putting her back in the crib for a week or two to break her of the habit. That way she cannot go wandering around the house and will be confined to her bed...

NAUGHTY!

There is a reason that this girl has the nickname "Naughty"

The other day I was talking to mom on the phone for about 20-30 min. During this time Wren was in and out of the room and being fairly quiet (never a good sign). After we hung up I went to see what she was up to and this is what I found:

I love that she looks so proud of herself! This was all of the junk food she could reach out of the cupboards while standing on the stool that she is currently sitting on! I have since had to move all of the junk to higher shelves, apparently she is not so interested in canned food or even cereal!

She did clean up the mess all by herself, put all the cupcakes in the correct boxes and "helped" me rearrange the shelves!

Wren and Dada

Wren loves her dada! Sometimes she wakes up super early in the morning and this was one of those days! The upside to that is that she is super cuddly (the downside of course is that no one else in this house likes to wake up early!) and just wants to watch movies. Apparently dada was not so interested in the movie...

Helping Mommy!

I had book club at my house in May and was making a chocolate cake. Wren decided that she wanted to help and so I let her grease the pan! It was adorable and she was so proud of herself, I look forward to her "helping" more as she gets older. A couple weeks later we were making some cakes for Scott and Shyanne and she got to help make the frosting by putting things in the kitchenaid. She thought that was the coolest thing EVER and still asks to "pour" every time she sees the kitchenaid! Too cute!

OUTSIDE!!!!!

Wren LOVES to be outside, I bought her some sidewalk chalk and she is always asking to "color outside!" She is so fun, I love her! I am glad that it is warm enough to be outside these days, it makes life a lot more interesting for both Wren and I. There is so much to do these days!
