It's a....

BOY!!!!!

Even though I haven't scanned the ultrasound pictures I wanted to make a note of this day!

The ultrasound was at 10:00 a.m. Jeremiah, Wren, Mom and of course I were there. The tech was great, the best we have ever had although she did not give us a picture of the "money shot".

Honestly, most days I thought that we were having another girl and I have to say that at that point during the ultrasound that the tech said that it was a boy there was a small twinge of disappointment but coupled that was a LOT of joy. I am glad that we are having a healthy baby, no matter what the gender. I think that part of the reason that I was convinced (mostly) that we were having a girl was because that is the only kind of pregnancy that I know! I am already getting used to the idea of a little boy running around this house creating more havoc in our lives! I look forward to the challenge and the excitement of having a little momma's boy and daddy's girl around!

Jeremiah "wrote" (revised) a poem to announce the plumbing of this kiddo:

Roses are red, violets are blue; The nursery was pink, now it will be BLUE!

Kevin's response to the text we sent him of this was " Roses are red we were happy for Venus. But now we're ecstatic that your kid grew a..." LOVE it! :)

Pregnancy 19 weeks

Finally getting these pictures blogged a week later! Here I am at 19 weeks. After going to the Dr. on Monday, 1/31 everything looks good, the heartbeat was "clocked" at 54 and Dr. Hall told me that I should probably start gaining some weight here soon. I lost 7 pounds the first month of my pregnancy and since then have only gained 1 back. Jeremiah said that he can't believe that I have not gained anything more because I eat everything in sight! I will say that I was extremely nauseous during my first trimester and when I am pregnant and I am as interested in candy and sweet things, I much prefer salads and tomatoes and pickles which is probably why I have not gained weight like I am "supposed to".

Anyway, we go in tomorrow, 2/7 to find out the gender of the baby and we are all VERY excited to finally find out!

YUMMY!

Wren LOVES to feed herself and has recently discovered that she really likes breakfast foods like waffles, pancakes and french toast. Especially when these foods have peanut butter on them! Here she is eating some french toast:

She is saying "yummy" (which sounds like mummy!)

Here she is saying, "CHEESE!"

and now just piggin' out!

New Bed Drama

We got Wren a toddler bed since there is going to be a new baby in the house! She was so excited about it, she played on it all afternoon while it was out in the living room and when we first put it in her room. However, when bedtime came around she decided that it was not as fun! She cried, and got up and banged on the door (we live in an old house and she can't open the bedroom doors), when we went to put her back to bed and left the door open a crack she would come right back out. I tried doing the super nanny thing and sat in there with my back to her but that didn't matter to her, I was someone to talk to - she is such a chatty kathy! So, after 15 minutes of that I left and shut the door tightly behind me. She cried and cried (screaming for "mommy" which broke my heart), we could hear her get up and play with the door, but she finally quieted down and when we went to check on her she was laying in bed asleep. Nap time was hard also, even though she has blackout blinds on her windows it is not THAT dark in there. I stayed in there for 15 minutes again and she was sleeping, or so I thought so I got up and left. That was a disaster! Immediately the screaming and crying began again so I just walked away. She of course got out of bed and came banging on the door. Jeremiah went in and put her in bed then shut the door tightly. Once again she cried and cried but went to sleep fairly quickly after that.

Tonight we did not hear her get out of bed although there was crying, but there is usually crying at bedtime so it was not as hard on us parents.

Jeremiah and I were talking yesterday about how we have lucked out with what a good baby Wren is. I would say this is another example of that, she is a very adaptable little baby. Some other examples of this is when I stopped rocking her to sleep and just put her to bed at bedtimes, when we stopped going into her room and giving her her pacifier during the night, when we took her pacifier away. All of these things only took her a day, maybe a day and a half to get used to these changes! I love this baby and am so grateful for all of the person that she is!

Church cuteness

Seriously, could this kid be any cuter? She was hamming it up before church and I could not resist!

Wren's Chicken Nuggets

This is the way that Wren eats her chicken nuggets - like they are apples or a sandwich that she doesn't want to eat the crust off of! She is so hilarious, I love that I get to laugh at her antics every single day!
