Our Trip to Salt Lake
Our Volvo had a recall on it so we had to take it to Salt Lake to get it fixed. We decided to take a long weekend and invited Jeremiah's brother Blair and his wife, Paige to join us. We left on Thursday afternoon and got to the dealership just in time to drop the car off before they closed. They gave us a loaner car so we would not be stranded and we headed over to the hotel. We stayed at the Radisson just a block away from the temple and also within sight of the Energy Solutions Center where the Jazz play and also where they hold concerts and such.
Wren and I both started getting sick when we left on Thursday and that night Wren had a rash on her upper torso. We started giving her benadryl and alternating motrin and tylenol for the 103 fever that she had and putting lots of essential oils on her. Sadly, I didn't know that we were going to be sick so I didn't have all of the oils that I could have used with me. I got well fairly quickly, by Saturday but Wren was miserable the entire time we were there! Poor kiddo! Jeremiah also started getting sick on Sunday so it was not quite the fun trip that we had planned but it was fun to get away from the stress of it all!
Blair and Paige came up from St. George on Sunday and brought their two boys Parker and Sterling and had also called Jeremiah's other brother, John and his wife Melissa so they came down from Pocatello with their kids to hang out with us also. They all stayed in Sandy at the hotel chain that Blair works for.
Wren really loved the swimming pool where we were staying. It was a non-chlorinated pool so she was able to splash around and be crazy without burning her eyes or lungs. She also loved the elevators but hated riding anywhere in the car.
We were able to go to Temple Square while we were there and Wren LOVED seeing the Christus and couldn't stop pointing at him and saying "Jesus, Jesus!" It was very cute and heartwarming. When we all sat down to take in the spirit, she sat with us and folded her arms like everyone else was doing. She is such a good little baby girl.
Here are some pictures of our stay:
When we came back from our room the first day, our maid had found Wren's baby and "gankie" (blankie) on the bed and left them like this. Wren LOVED it, she thought it was too funny!
Wren really liked being in my bed and hanging out with me watching tv. Because there were only two double beds in the room, Jeremiah and I mostly slept in separate beds.
She also thought it was pretty cool to steal my hat and wear it!
Of course every morning she had to bring her puppy into my bed and eat her yummy breakfast, she thought it was pretty cool that she got to "steal" mommy's bed!
She loved opening the drawers in the dressing that was in the room and one time she climbed in. Jeremiah decided to have her "sleep" in there and she thought it was great. She did not like it when Jeremiah would open the drawer, she just wanted to be left alone in her little cave!
